Last week
we had luck to have couple days off together with my flat mate and also when
that happens we try to do something together. This time we decided to go to
Bo-Kaap which is Cape Town´s historical Islamic quarter and it was developed
1760s. There you can find the oldest mosque in the country and the residents
are still Muslims. The houses are really colorful and they are closely packed.
We went to
the Bo-Kaap by car and even though it is really easy to go there, I am not
really good with maps and we used longer way… We arrived to Bo-Kaap just before
rain, we took photos among other tourists, locals asked where we are from and
of course they talked about Spain in World Cup. When rain started we went to
have some nice beer in Biergarten and that was the adventure of the day.
Viime viikolla sattu, että oltiin vapalla pari päivää yhtä
aikaa kämppiksen kanssa ja aina kun niin sattuu niin yritetään tehdä jotain
mainitsemisen arvoista. Tällä kertaa päätettiin lähteä Bo- Kaap:iin, joka on
islamilainen asuinkortteli vuodelta 1760-luvulta. Sieltä löytyy maan vanhin
moskeija ja aluetta asuttaa yhä muslimit. Bo-Kaap:ssa talot on tosi värikkäitä
ja rakennettu vieri viereen.
Lähettiin matkaan autolla ja vaikka Bo-Kaap:iin on tosi
helppo mennä niin onnistuttiin kiertämään jotain kiertoreittiä kun en osannut
karttaa lukea. Saavuttiin paikalle just ennen sadetta, otettiin kuvia muiden
turistien joukossa, paikalliset kysy mistä ollaan ja tietenkin mustuttelivat
Espanjan kohtalosta World Cupissa. Sadetta karkuun hilppastiin Biergarteniin
juomaan maukasta olutta ja siinä sen päivän seikkailu olikin.
